How to register Telstra Business SIP Trunk in Grandstream Networks UCM Series

Grandstream Networks UCM series supports interconnecting Telstra NTU to work with Telstra Business SIP trunk service.

Topology:

To register Telstra Business SIP Trunk, we will need to configure from both Telstra NTU side, and UCM side.

From Telstra NTU:

Topology: Gateway attached

Register PBX: Checked

PBX IP address: Key in the IP address of the UCM (Should be in the same subnet as NTU WAN)

PBX Address of Record (AOR): SIP trunk call number (Should be the FNN Number with zero removed from the front)

Authenticate PBX: Checked

Username: SIP trunk call number (Should be the FNN Number with zero removed from the front)

Password: Password given by your SIP provider

Using my example, the configuration should look like this:

From UCM:

Create a Register trunk pointing to the NTU IP address (same LAN) and use Port 5062 instead of the common 5060. Telstra NTU uses local port 5062 for PBX connection as the Port 5060 was used for SIP session to the remote network.

Provider Name: Telstra

Host Name: 192.168.16.20:5062

Transport: UDP

Username: Enter SIP trunk username as given by Telstra

Password: Enter the corresponding SIP password for this user

AuthID: Enter the authentication number

It should look like this:

Click on Save and Apply. Telstra SIP trunk should be registered now, and showing reachable under Dashboard > Trunks.
